091 Stylized Hispanic Shekere (pronounced shā′kə-rā) is a Western Africa percussion musical instrument using the sound of the hollow gourd plus the rhythm of the beads or shells striking its sides. Found in many cultures today it can be a prized possession for those who play it. This stylized version reflects the colors of the Mexican as well as Spanish culture. The gourd is dyed, pyro-etched, dyed, & painted. The beads are Fair Trade, handmade polymer strung on a dyed & knotted nylon cord like macrame. The gourd is 11 x9” weight 1#.
